Market View 31 Dec 2008 Last Day of the Year & Trading Goal and Stocks for a Great 2009!!

In a flash, today is the last trading day of 2008,
although it is only a half-trading day.
It is time to do a reflection on the lessons and
experiences learnt in this year, and to set the
direction and pace for an entire fresh New Year!

This year, we witnessed an "incredible" and
unprecedented market action, most of the time
is bloody selldown all around the world.
Financial powerhouses collapsed, Call of the
much-hated-and-scared "R"ecession word
echoed around the world, and Singapore and US
are officially in Recession. We saw lots of retrenchment
from MNCs, and this bad situation is widely expected to
continue into 2009 and maybe 2010.

As a investor and/or trader, what happened to your portfolio
this year? Did you trim down your holding in time before
the onslaught begins? Did you short the stocks down and
gain a good profit by stepping on the blood on the ground?
Did you add and buy-up good stocks which have been
indiscriminately sold down?

If you are in my report mailing list, I started calling for
buy-up, accumulation of good stocks around August,
and when this blog was set-up in October, I continue to
call for Buy and Accumulation of strong Blue Chips,
and some pennies that have been whacked down.
If you have heed my advice and bought some
stocks from August to October, you should be sitting
on a healthy profit.

I bought a generous amount of stocks, both Blues
and Pennies in the last couple of months. I will continue
to hold them and add-on in market weakness, unless
my trailing stops are triggered. For my holdings, my trailing
stops will be more relaxed than that of trading stocks.
I believe we have set a temporary market low, and although
the worst is not over as some reports have mentioned,
I am very optimistic about making money from trading/investing
in our local stock market in 2009.

I believe the market will presents an abundant supply of
great trading opportunites, and BIG money can be made
from it. The opportunites may not be present everyday,
but if you just caught one great push-up trading move
from the Hot stocks, you will be in for an "indecent" profit.
It is essential to set trading goal every year before actually
trading the stocks, and I have been doing so for years.

I am setting a Net Trading Profit of 650k for the year of 2009.
For some people, it may be a absurd or audacious target, while
it may be a chicken-feed target for some great traders.
To me, it is a doable and achievable goal, as 2009 will
be a traders' funland as the market action will be volatile
and wild, and it will have enough range play and price action
to last for the whole year.

I will give a list of Must-See, Must-Study, Must-in-Watchlist stocks
that I am personally eyeing, focusing, targeting and trading them.
This is not an exhaustive list, but it is enough for a good trading
in year 2009.

The Must-See & Must-in-Watchlist Trading stocks:
(not in any order or preferrence)

1. Ascendas Reits
2. Cosco
3. Ezra

5. NOL
6. Olam
7. Straits Asia
8. Swiber
9. Raffles Education
10. Yang ZiJiang
11. Yanlord
12. IndoAgri
13. Midas

The still sleeping but anytime will wakeup
with a bang Must-Study stocks:
(Many of them are former darling of the traders)

1. KS Energy (One of the most "unpredictable" stock)
2. Li Heng (The largest china fibre company listed here on market cap)
3. Sino-enviro (Former punters' and house traders' favourite stock)
4. Tat Hong
5. First Resources
6. China Fish
7. China Avivation Oil
8. Swissco (Becos of 11% in Swiber, this stock will always be lively)
9. Genting (IR play)

according to its staff that I talked to. I won't say what they are)
11. CapitaRetail China Trust
12. HL Asia
13. Keppel T&T (Do you still remember this stock? I do, becos it

leaves a deep impression in my bank book :-)

1. Ezion (Becos of its parent company Ezra)
2. Golden Agri
3. Oceanus
4. Sinotel
5. China Sky
6. China Zaino (House traders favourite)
7. China XLX
8 China Milk
9. Beauty China (Active volume and range seen lately)
10. Celestial
11. Sinotech Fibre
12. Fibrechem
13. JES

For the Blue Chips, I like SPH, SMRT, Singtel, Keppel and
Semb Corp. For the banks, I will be nibbing them bit
by bit. Once the daily market volume starts to increase,
SGX will once again be the limelight.

I currently have a couple of members skyping with me
everyday, and we keep one another updated with the
market happening, and I can say that they are doing
pretty well in the last 2 months. I am looking for more
like-minded traders and/or investor to join us in
skype everyday. We will achieve much more with
cooperation and teamwork in our pursue of
great profit from Mr Market.

OK, I will end with a New Year wish that
everyone will make Big Money from
the market, and stay Healthy to fight the
market wave everyday!!

P.S.: If you are still holding to the trading winners
from last 2 days, set a trailing stop, and follow
them strictly. You would have made good money
from Noble, Cosco, Straits Asia, Olam and Yanlord
lately.

P.P.S: If you are setting goals to learn more about
the market, do yourself a favour, learn some TA
on the market. It is an essential tool to really make
money from the market.
工欲善其事, 必先利其器!

Market View 30 Dec 2008

I will go straight into my trades for today.
The 3 near-$1 stocks that I kept mentioning
and heavily focus, Noble, Cosco and Yanlord.
Looking at the chart formation, I like Straits Asia,
Olam, Ezra and Raffles Education. They need a
trigger to be fired up, and I am ready for it.

Today's market action "should" be a weak opening,
followed by steady and maybe strong follow-up.
I am ready for any turn of tides.

Please practice strict money management if you
are going into the market.
It will help and saveyou if the tide turns.

Market View 29 Dec 2008

I took a short oversea trip last week and was back
in the weekend, therefore I missed the
friday session and the market view,
sorry for any inconveniences caused.

This week trading will be quite interesting
especially with the near-$1 stocks that I
kept mentioning, Cosco, Noble and Yanlord.
Do I believe in window dressing to look nicer
in the portfolio for the trading funds?
Yes and No.
Only selected few will be in hot focus.
The rest will be just a pool of still water.

I will be giving my trading stock targets and
must-have list for a BIG profit in the year 2009
on 31 Dec, so keep a lookup for it.

About 2 weeks ago, I setup a poll seeking
opinion about having a Chinese version for the
blog, and the response is not that strong.
Nevertheless, I will consider this option
for a while.

Please practice strict money management if you
are going into the market. It will help and save
you if the tide turns.

Market View 24 Dec 2008 Christmas Eve

Once again, it was a pool of red flowers in
my watch list, except for some obvious
green leaves like Yang ZiJiang.
Look like our market today will be the same as
the weather outside, gloomy and stormy.

I am trading very light this week following a
good profits last week, and I am enjoying this
pre-christmas horror movie, as I know this
is much needed, and it presents more trading
opportunities ahead. A couple of stocks which was
trading at $1.00++ last week is now below $1,
and maybe even going to the 80s region.
These are my favourites.

Please practice strict money management if you
are going into the market. It will help and save
you if the tide turns.

On this day, I wish every blog readers and members
and family a GREAT and BLISSFUL Christmas,
and a WONDERFUL and FABULOUS New Year!!
Enjoy the holiday!!

Market View 23 Dec 2008

It is a pool of red flowers in my watch list
yesterday and it is a much welcomed colour.
The market is basically in a directionless
state, and is reacting to any news ahead of the
holiday. Many investors/traders will not hold
their stocks over the holiday in fear of any
unforeseen "happening" in the US or any countries.

A couple of stocks that was in the 1.00++ region has
fallen down to the 90s again, and I will be particularly
focus on them. They are Noble, Cosco and Yanlord.
I will not be trading heavily these few days, but I will just
be nibbing at the potentials, and will go in big when the
volumes come in.
I will be strict with my stops and so should you,
if you are entering any positions.

If you have Skype, and would like to chat with me

Market View 22 Dec 2008

Last week was indeed a big winning or losing
week as I wrote on last Monday. If you went
into the market last week, and was in the right
direction, you will have profited big.
I believe most readers of this blog have benefited
from the volatility and the range of the hot stocks
last week, and can enjoy the Christmas and New Year
happily. :-)

This week is going to be a holiday-shorten trading week,
and the market is "expected" to be quiet and
less volatile. But in a pool of dead water, there will still
have some hot bubbles popping up.

The shipping counters' momentum is still strong
and likely to move on, for example NOL, Cosco,
Ezra, and I will be focus on last friday intraday
winner Raffles Educations, and also Yanlord
if its "strength" is intact.
I will be strict with my stops and so should you,
if you are entering any positions.

If you have Skype, and would like to chat with me

Market View 19 Dec 2008

What a drastic roller-coaster ride we been
through yesterday, with so many hot stocks
staging a recovery from a Red low, and some
closing and charging high, like Yanlord.

Every now and then, we will have such a
wild horse, that will be helped with fundamental
reasons together with chart formations that
will prospel it to higher sky. We have Noble,
Olam, NOL some trading days ago, and
we have Yanlord last couple of days.
These are the type of stocks that traders
thrive on, and big money can be made from
them, even just one or two of them.

The "obvious" scenario will be a red opening
with some hot stocks maybe gapping down,
but I expect recovery again in some stocks.
Some hot stocks' momentum is still intact,
and will likely surge on, for example
Raffles Educations.

I will stick to the green leaves in a pool
of red flowers, and be ready and prepared
for any North wind. I have given out my
trading stocks and I will trade them accordingly.
I am strict with my stops and so should you,
if you are entering any positions.

If you have Skype, and would like to chat with me

P.S: If you have Metastock and have access to EOD data
for our local stocks, and would like to scan for 80cts to
90cts stocks for a potential surge pass the $1 mark,
leave a comment here or email me.

It is just a simple formulae, and it is just a simple trading trick.
The stocks are at the 80s, 90s for reasons that
I don't care, but I do know that the possibility of them
surging pass $1 mark at subsquence trading sessions
are rather High.

Market View 18 Dec 2008

It has been a rather quiet trading week,
but I believe the real show is just
about to begin.

From my interpretation of chart formation,
we will likely be seeing "real" action on thursday
and friday. The "real" action can be either a
great surge or a downhill slide.

Today's opening will be weak following US' overnight
decline, but the strength will pick-up and it is possible
that we will see an opposite situation from yesterday.
Is it possible?

If you wish to enter the market today, please stick to a
strict money managementaka cut loss level.
I am adding Raffles Education into my potential trading stocks
list based on chart formation. I will be sticking with the "strong"
stocks that are still green today, and those near $1 or$1+ stocks,
but I will be strict with the stops.

If you have Skype, and would like to chat with me
about stocks and all others, you can ring me at

Market View 17 Dec 2008

Thanks to Uncle Sam and the Fed,
our market will likely surge higher today.
Most hot stocks will gap up,
but can they stay up the whole day?

The "expected" scenario is very obvious,
but how high and how far is the surge,
I am wary of it.

If you went into the market yesterday,
then enjoy the surge with a trailing stop.
If you wish to enter the market today,
please stick to a strict money management
aka cut loss level.

My trades will be with those near $1 or
$1+ stocks, but I be strict with the stops.

Market View 16 Dec 2008

If you went into those hot stocks that I traded
yesterday, you will not much profit, as most
of them opened high, and closed near the the
opening price too. So what will happen to them
today?

The "expected" scenario will be a weak opening,
followed by directionless movement as the
market awaits important decisions from
Uncle Sam. Any surprises?

In this type of market, it is Ok to stay on
the sideline, and wait for clearer signals.
Jesse Livermore said before that it is
the "Sitting" that made him money.
We don't need to trade everyday,
we just need to trade the high
wining percentage days.

For me, I will be focusing on my hot
stock list especially those near the
"magical" $1. If the market stages
a "unexpected" scenario, I will be happy
to join in the surge.

Market View 15 Dec 2008

I will be very straight-forward about this week's
trading. This week is exactly the type that big
fortunes or losses happen, and I will be wary
about any trade this week.

To me, last friday's redness is not red enough,
but it may be the best that I will get from
Mr Market. I am looking at the bull continuing
the charge, but the momentum may not be
enough for a followthrough, and any "bad" news
from Uncle Sam will have a drastic effect on
our market.

If you see that I am having difficulties looking
for directions in the market, or writing ironic
and contradicting statement today, you are right.
I don't know where the direction will go,
and I am not going to predict or forecast it.
I will have to watch as the market action unfold its
real intention, and just ride on and follow it, and
be mindful of any turning of the tides.

I will be staying put with my Hot stocks as they
will be a good indicators of the real market actions.
I believe the first 30 mins of today market start will be
a guideline to where and how the market will go today.
Let the actions begin!!

Market View 12 Dec 2008

Finally the Hot stocks are taking a break,
and getting ready for the next surge.
So what should traders do today?

I got stop-out of the market yesterday with
many stocks hitting my tight trailing stops,
and that is a clear signal that the recent
wild party is over, and we may see red flowers
for a couple of days.

I will sit around and observe the market
and the sentiment for any changes in
the blowing wind, 静观其变.
It should be blowing
south red fire wind today,
but I will be interested in those that
are still glowing with green lights.

For some of the traders, you may consider
taking a break together with the market
高挂免战牌, and enjoying the recent profit with a shopping
and/or eating spree, or keep it as "ammo"
for the next battle. If you want to watch a
potential market horror show (maybe a comedy?!)
with me, then you can connect with me using skype.

Some of the recent Hot stocks have gone back to
the 90s having surged pass the $1 mark, and those
stocks will be a good focus, for example Straits Asia
and Noble. You will get plentiful of trading opportunites
in the coming days, and if you are not comfortable
with the market condition, simply don't trade.

It has been a wonderful surge rally by
the commodities stocks and S-shares
over the last 2 week, I believe that many
have earned profits of at least 50%,
to a potential of more than 100% if you
are in multiple hot stocks as I recommended.

I am with the idea that this party will be
over very soon, although technically, I will
still be trading those hot stocks if they still
continue their march. But I will be applying
tight trailing stops, when I see that the tide
is turning.

The stocks (and us) need to take a well-deserved
break, and be ready for a likely year-end rally,
which may bring in more stocks in the next rally.
"休息是为了走更远的路"
If you did not "participate" in the surge this time,
then you need to prepared for the coming one.

If you have benefited and profited from reading my blog
and recommendations, you can leave a comment here.
I believe that a lot have gained financially from
reading the blog.

I will be sticking to my trading stocks, and I will go in if it is still "strong",
but with tight trailing stops. As usual, strict money management is essential.

Market View 10 Dec 2008

It was a very good trading day yesterday
as most of my Hot stocks were still
surging on, and registered profitable
returns for those who entered them.

So now, US is in the red in overnight trade,
so what will our market react?
Is the party finally over?? Bubbles Popped??
If you are shouting "Yipee, Hurray!!!!" because
US is finally in the Red, and you will see
a pool of red in our market as well, then
your view may be a 50/50.

Most stocks will be in the red, but as usual,
you will likely see a few "strong" stocks that
will defy the "gravity", and continue to march on.
On such a trading day, I like to observe the Top gainers,
Top % gainers and my personal watchlist for any
green leaves in a pool of red flowers, 红花丛中的绿叶.
I like to trade "strong" stocks especially if they have
good "supporting hands", and they will be in
my trade as always.

Sometimes, you have to trade with the trend
顺势操盘(作), and at other times, you need
to trade against the trend, 逆势操盘(作).

I will only be sticking to my trading stocks,
and I will go in it is still "strong".
My trading stocks are as below:Cosco, Ezra, Li Heng,
Noble, NOL, Olam, Straits Asia, Swiber & Yanlord.
I am happy to see a pool of red flowers,
but I am also ready and prepared for green
leaves.
As usual, strict money management is essential.

What a wonderful week it had been!
I believe many, including myself, profited
greatly from the S-share and commodities
share surge last week, especially
Olam, Cosco, Straits Asia, Yanlord, Noble,
even last friday's pick, Swiber.

But if you did not benefited at all, or
you feel that it is not enough,
you will have plentiful opportunities
to earn from Mr Market, 100% guaranteed.

After such a great week, I am turning cautiously
optimistic for this shorten-trading week.
You can't expect the party to carry on indefinitely,
and it will pop one fine day.

I will only be sticking to my trading stocks,
and I will go in if it surge pass last week's
high. My trading stocks are as below:
Cosco, Ezra, Li Heng, Noble, NOL, Olam, Straits Asia,
Swiber & Yanlord. Weakness and profit-taking will
very likely come in at the later trading day,
so a trailing stop and strict money management
practice is essential.

You don't have to look for more, as you will notice that
my trading stocks will always be very actively traded
and most, if not all, will be charging high everyday.
Take note that, they will be the first to surge,
and they will be the first to get beaten down too,
as that is part and parcel of the game.

Market View 5 Dec 2008

It has been an interesting and profitable
thursday, with Olam decided to join in the
commodities surge, and indeed it was the
biggest winner yesterday.
The rest of the Hot stocks are still steaming hot,
but I did got hit out by my trailing stops
on Noble, Straits Asia and Yanlord.

Some members asked me why Cosco can continue
to surge, when it just announced a bad news,
and "by-right" it should be shot down.
You can't be that rigid when trading in the market,
market don't always follow the "by-right" scripts,
and will staged a "by-left" show sometimes,
and this is where the big profits are from.

As I said before in past market views, the "Market"
is made up of "Players". we are just the tiny
retailers, and the major players are the Institutions'
and Brokerage Houses' traders. It is these Big Boys
who decide where the market will go each day,
you don't expect the retailers to push up the market,
do you?

I don't know why Cosco surge, I only know that I
had 1 losing trade and 1 winning trade on cosco
yesterday, and the end-result is still a profit
from trading Cosco yesterday. From a technical
view, it is simply that there are more bullish
buyers in Cosco than the bearish sellers.

If you are looking for the media press' view,
they can give you all sort of explanations,
since it had already happened. If Cosco is
down, they can say that "Investors sold off
Cosco as they are concerned about the
prospects of Cosco, and worried
about potential future contract cancellations..."
If Cosco is green, they will say that "Investors
choose to ignore the contract cancellation news,
and buy up Cosco share in line with the market
sentiment." It is all 马后炮.

Ok, back to the trading today.
I am sure that some members are still holding
to winners, and "maybe" still have not be
hit out by the trailing stops. My advice is that
we had a good trading week till now, and
it is a good time to take out profits,
and enjoy the day with your family and friends.

If you still want to trade to the last minute of the
friday closing bell, then I will tell you my view.
The "by-right" market action should be
a pool of red, since US was down yesterday,
and we will see profit-taking set-in.
I will be particularly focus on the stocks
that are still green, if you know what I meant.
I will stick to my trading stocks with Swiber
the latest addition in my radar.

If you have Skype, and would like to chat with me about stocks

Market View 04 Dec 2008

Congrats to the many who had gone into
my stock recommendations, you are
a winner!
In yesterday trading, only Olam disappointed
us, but the rest of the recommendations are
all winners, with Yanlord and Noble the biggest
winners if you have bought this.

Some of you may still be holding the stocks,
but with revised trailing stops, it is ok.
Just enjoy the winner's feast, and take the
money if the south wind start blowing.

It is very likely that we will see profit-taking
and weakness in the opening, but given the
momentum that our stocks are in,
some will still march on, while others may
decided to take a break.

I believe most will know that Cosco came out
yesterday afternoon saying that the order of
2 vessels has been cancelled in a Variation Agreement.
What should be the "by-right" situation of Cosco today?
It should be selldown?? What if it don't??

"Here We Go Again, Same Old Thing Again...."
Somehow, US market like to play Yo-Yo ,
and go up and down every other day.
But I like such a volatility, and I certainly
enjoy such a sentiment, and you should too.

Yesterday, if you have managed to pick-up some
stocks from the desperate and clueless retailers,
you should be in quite a good profit now.
My advice: Hold on to your winners, and
if you want, keep a trailing stop.
Enjoy the momentum play.

If you did not pick-up stocks yesterday,
and wondering what stocks to enter today.
Take a look at Olam, Ezra, NOL and Yanlord.
I believe most are already in Hot stocks like
Cosco and Noble, so I will not say much.

Hurray!!! Yippee!! Yahoo!!!
US is officially in recession!!

Come on,
Please tell us something we don't know!
The US market had already factored in this
imminent fact, and market all over the world
had done the same thing too.
Now that it is official, how will the market react?

The "obvious" direction for our market is
Down and the "rightful" colour of the day
should be Red, am I right?
This is the "Should-Be" scenario, but
it is not the "Must-Be" result.

Yesterday, some stocks in my list
continued their surge, while the rest
slump down on profit-taking or other
reasons which I don't really care.
My only concern is that, if my stocks
continue their momentum, then
I will just trade them.

I am not looking to shorting stocks
for today, but I will use this good
opportunity to pick up some
stocks that got sell-down by
desperate or clueless retailers.
Come on, sell to me....
I am particularly targetting on those
in the 90s and the commodities.

It is the start of another trading week,
I hope you are ready for it!

Last friday, Noble staged a wonderful
surge pass the elusive $1 mark, but
ended at a bid below at 0.995
This is the kind of stock that you
need to have in your trading watchlist.
Another stocks that is in the $1 waiting list
is Olam.

I expect to see initial market weakness at
the opening bell, and profit-taking of
recent "too-hot" stocks. Nevertheless,
a handful of stocks will still continue their
upsurge trend.

My radar screen now consists of the following stocks:
Cosco, Ezra, Li Heng, Noble, NOL, Olam, Straits Asia,
Yang ZJ and Yanlord. I will be trading the last friday's
IPO Otto Marine if I see it move pass its listed price
of 0.51 Take note that this is a risky trade.

Ok, I am ready for the opening bell in 15 mins,
let's the show begin...

In a flash, this weekend's trading has come to the last day.
In a flash, Noble charged up to the 90s region, and
maybe heading to the $1.
If you have been following my recommendation and went
in Noble, you would have at least earned a 10cts profits,
and maybe even a 20cts profits if you were early.

Yesterday, I added positions in Ezra and Yanlord,
and it was a rewarding addition, and I hope that
the readers have benefited.

We have 2 strong contenders to be heading to the
$1 line, and they are Olam and Noble, so which one
will surge pass it first?

After having a fruitful week till now, I am turning
optimistically cautious, so I will not be entering
heavy positions, but I will be on the alert for
any Red Alert signal. I am still aiming on my list
of Hot stocks, and will enter light positions
if there is a continual of trends.

I received a very interesting email asking me about
commodity stocks like Noble, Straits Asia & Olam.
He said that a "expert" and "star trader" mentioned
in his blog that he is bearish on the commodity stocks
and is staying short with them. He missed the 3 stocks'
surge yesterday, as he was afraid to have different
direction face-to-face with the "expert".

"Expert" can be wrong too. To quote an example
from the army, and those who served NS will find
this familiar. In any exercise, we will receive instructions
and commands from our commanders who is not
with us, but when we are in the field, we have to adapt
and adjust to the actual environment. The terrain and
weather may have changed, and we need to make
on-the-spot decisions.

Market trading is all about sentiment and momentum,
when it is on form, we need to hop on and enjoy the surge,
with a ready mindset to take profit if the wind suddenly
changes direction.

I am still staying long with the Hot trading stocks
with a cautious feel that we should have hit a
Short-term bottom, if not THE bottom.
I am adding 2 stocks in my radar screen,
and they are Ezra and Yanlord.
But I am also prepared for the South wind.

Great rebound by Noble!
Did you earn anything from the Noble man?

Last Saturday, I was at a relative's function, and the
topic moved to current financial situation in the world.
Some said that they have taken all their money from the
bank, and is keeping them in the house. Some said that
they no longer trust the bank's products, but their money
is still in the saving account, since the government had
guarantee the deposits.

There are tons of Fears in their speech, and not a single
thread of Greed, and I was smiling in my heart that such
a situation is happening. I did tell them that now is the
Best time to pump in some money into stocks, both
for capital appreciation and dividend yield, but it falls on
deaf ears. It's OK with me, they can jolly well keep their

Cosco, Noble, Sinoenv, Li Heng, YZJ and Yanlord.

I received a very interesting email from my report mailing list
asking me why am I always suggesting trading idea on the same
stocks, like Noble, Cosco, Straits Asia, etc?

My open answer will be: that is because they are the "Hot"
trading stocks, and they will have the volume, liquidity, volatility
every trading day, and that is what you required in making
money from trading. Moreover, they are still "tradeable"
as shown in my chart, so I just have keep trading them,
and squeeze them dry, if I have to.

I don't believe in having many stocks in your watchlist,
and today trade Stock A, tomorrow Stock B, and maybe
trading different stocks everyday, this don't really works well.
You can make money just by sticking to a handful of
"Hot" trading stocks, and through observation and actual
trades, you will know the "pattern" and "behaviour"
of the stock, which give you an unfair edge over the others
trading the same stocks.

You need to realise that 80-90%, maybe even more of each
day's and stocks volume is done by institution traders, house
traders, or maybe the so-called "Invisible Hand". This is
especially true for the "Hot" stocks. Stocks change hands
between the Big Boys in an attempt to fulfil the "goal"
of "Price Discovery", be it up or down. By sticking to the
same stocks, somehow or another, you will gain some
"insight" on the stock.

Hope that the readers can learn something today from

It was an very interesting tag-of-war between the
bull and bear in last friday's market, and if you
never watch the whole game till the whistle blow,
you have missed out in some trading opportunities.

It's OK.
Today I will share with you a trading "secret"!!
Well....not really a trading secret, but a trading
trick.
I simply like to keep track of stocks trading at
about 85cts to 95cts, because of the risk/reward
trading them, but they MUST have volatility and
liquidity, that is, they are "Hot" trading stocks.
You should know that stocks that are below
$1 move at $0.005 each bid, and stocks above
$1 and less than $10 move at $0.01 each bid.

If you buy a stock near to the magic $1 level, your
downside is 0.005 per bid, but if the stock rises
above $1, you will be winning 0.01 per bid, so your
reward level will be better, and you got the little edge
over the others. It is this edge that differentiate the
good and the better traders.

So in summary, keep track and seek to buy those
stocks near the $1 level for a better risk/reward
edge. For a feel of some stocks in this categories,
we have Straits Asia, Cosco, Noble, Yanlord, and
a highly in-comer Swiber.

This trick is known to many, but I don't see many
sharing out, so I hope that it will be beneficial to
all.

Today will be a "Red-Letter" day again,
but as usual, be alert of the unexpected.
Do you know that, you will make the most
money trading those unexpected events?

script, or certain stocks buck the trend,
and have its own idea, do you dare to enter
and trade them?

If you are not, then please stay out

interesting question from the Great Albert Einstein,
(So said in the email), and I will share it with you.

Einstein's Intelligence Quiz:
Einstein wrote this quiz last century.
He said that 98% of the people in the world cannot solve the quiz.
(Depending on how you look at it, the above sentence is
quite BS. I believe that we Singaporean are smarter,
and we will definitely solve it.
I managed to solve it in 20 minutes.
If I can do it, so can you!)

There are 5 houses in 5 different colours.
In each house lives a person with a different nationality.
These 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage,
smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet.
No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar
or drink the same drink.
Here's the question: Who owns the fish?

Clues:
1. The Brit lives in a red house
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets
3. The Dane drinks tea
4. The green house is on the left of the white house
5. The green house owner drinks coffee
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
8. The man living in the house right in the middle drinks milk
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house
10. The man who smokes Blend lives next door to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next door to the man who smokes Dunhill
12. The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer
13. The German smokes Prince
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
15. The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water

With these 15 clues the problem is solvable.
Here's the question: Who owns the fish?

Hi,

If this is your first time here, a warm welcome to you!
This blog is actually meant for my mailing list members,
but it is also open for public too.
I have a mailing list which I share Foreign Brokerage Research
report with, and if you are interested to join, just email me at
my email address in the About Me column at the right side.

Yesterday in my email to the members, I said,"
What a wonderful ride and returns from Noble!!
If you have entered Noble last week, you will have
profited at least 50%, and for some of you, the
returns can be close to 100%.
Congrats to you and me

Now for the not so good news.....
I am taking most profit as I am writing now,
but I will paid-for a generous handful lots of Noble,
since my buying price is low, so I will just
leave it there.

Some members asked me last week when will the
Noble and/or in general, the recent surge party end,
frankly, I don't know the answer.
But I do know that it is a straight line surge,
and many stocks had doubled in days, so as always,
the shark may come in anytime.
Nevertheless, you should have profited well."

Look like I am the jinx again, and hit the button
at the right time, and have taken profits at the
exact time.

So is the party over already?
As long as you trade the "Hot" stock
and keep a strict money management level,
it should be well OK.

If you are not used to shorting stocks, then you might want
to stay out for today, and leave the "demolition" job
to the market players. But keep those "Hot" trading stocks
in your radar screen, they are the stocks that are usually in
the Top 30 volume.

How to Make Money Investing/Trading in the Stock Market in Recession?

First of all, "We Are In Recession!!!"
Our own PM Lee clearly stated that we have gone into Recession and we could expect slower growth for several quarters and economic outlook over the next 12 months was uncertain.
What a Wonderful news!
The hated "R" word is finally showing its glory, or so you may think.....
Congratulation on being able to witness and benefited from this
"historic" moment, since our last recession was in 2002, and maybe
some readers are new investors/traders and have yet to taste
the succulent rewards from the stock market.
There is a saying, "Money is Paper Blood", and indeed there are lot
of blood flowing around the world now, and forgive me for saying this,
this is the BEST time to step on those blood to your own
fortune. There are plentiful investing/trading opportunity in
this irrational and fear-filled Crisis, but you need to be aware
and to take action.

Next we need to be aware of our mindset and mentality in the stock market.
Are you a Trader, Investor, Speculator, Punteror just plainly Gambler.
A Trader, Investor or Speculator believe in a certain method and market concept
and capitalise with it to earn money from Mr Market, whether it is
Fundamental Analysis (FA) and/orTechnical Analysis (TA).
A Punter or Gambler only believe in one kind of analysis, Gut Analysis (GA), which is almost same as playing "Big", "Small", and Tips Analysis or the lack of it.
So which category(ies) are you in?

I am clearly in the first category.
I believe in TA, but I am not a Pure believer in TA, but I believe in combining FA, Market Sentiment, together with Price Action, Volume Analysis, Pattern Recognision and ultimately Trend Analysis or Counter-Trend Analysis which is a essential to any Traders and/or Investor. Although, I believe in TA, don't ask me or talk to me about using Indicators in trading the market, as to me, and to me only, they are just Useless tools, and they will bring you closer to Davy Jones' Locker rather than to Cai Shen Ye. I will talk more about all these next time......
Ok, let's discuss on how Investor can profit from this tough time?
Investors are typically long-distance runners in the stock market, striving to achieve Capital Preservation, Capital Appreciation and hopefullyLong-term dividend yield, by investing in fundamentally and financially-sound companies using evaluation and valuation methods such as P/E ratio, ROE, NAV and recently very hot P/B ratio, or some other "sophicated" method like DDM. Investor seek to buy below a stock's intrinsic value and normally will hold the stock long-term if not mid-long term.

We need to understand that currently our own market is in a Irrational Exuberance state and we are driven by the Fear Monster and many stocks are really in a deeply-discounted and unjustified low price. I am a strong believer of "Stay Invested" in current market sentiment and condition, as base on my own view and observation, we are pretty near to a market bottom, and we should see global and singapore market gradually stablise and consolidate. A lot of investors hope to buy at the exact market or stock low, but that is only a fantasy which not many can achieve. I can't foresee the market and stock low,so I have to stay invested and add on to some current stock positions or buy new stocks meeting certain criteria.
This crisis will claim the "life" of companies which maybe listed in Singapore,
but this is a good sign. It has always been "Survival of the Fittest" in the
stock market, and it signify a bad time for weak companies.
These weak companies has been busking under the sun, and now
that we are in a Perfect Storm, they are being weed-out and wash away.

My advise to mid-long term investor is to start putting moneyinto the stock market now, if your investment horizon is at least 2 years, I am quite confident that you should reap reward for your bold and wise investment today. You can consider investing in some strong blue chips or GLCs such as SPH, SMRT, Singtel, Keppel Corp and Sembcorp. You must always have SGX
in your radar, because in any market surge or recovery, it will move up the most.
I believe the 3 local banks are also trading at a bargain price right now,
and you should eat them up bit by bit. The property sector is at the "sunset" status
now, and I will avoid them for the time being, but don't forget them entirely......
If you have a higher risk appetite, you can consider investing in some S-Chips
To be continued....
