The first day of the month and somehow I woke
up today feeling full of energy and zeal although
it is a Friday today. I went through the result
announcement yesterday night and I notice some
exceptional good result and a couple of companies
worth a closer look.
Noble announced a reasonable FY result yesterday
night and is also giving out a US$ 1.8 cts dividend,
that is about S$ 2.2 cts. I expect the stock to
consolidate around the current region but I do
believe there will be some good brokerage calls
coming along the way.
By the way, I have added CAO, China Aviation Oil,
into my close-watch and expect the stock to perform
well this year and beyond. If you are in the stock
market for some time, I believe you will remember the
CAO saga years ago, with the former CEO, Chen Jiulin,
speculating and suffered heavy losses in oil futures trading.
At that time, almost all the investors/traders/punters are
in CAO at some time of its glory days. I am not saying that
it will return to its past glory, but I am seeing signs of sparks
lighting up again.

In a flash, we are down to the last day of February.
After celebrating the Chinese New Year, time
seems to pass by very fast. Anyway, just know
that time is precious and once past, it can never
be back.
STX OSV has a see-saw session yesterday which
saw the stock sliding to a low of 1.26 before staging
a rebound to close at 1.285 and a day-high of 1.30
It is looking to shake off the news of its disappointing
result and technically as along as it stay above the
yesterday low of 1.26, it should be covering gap today.
Next, we have a wonderful result from Sinograndness
and I expect its business to get better and better.
I spotted the stock last year or the year before and told
quite many members on Skype and on this blog too.
I believe that a handful bought the stock low and should
be sitting on a good profits right now.
Lastly, if you are unhappy with the miserable interests
that you receive from your bank deposits, why not
consider shifting it. Mapletree Greater China Commercial
Trust share offer is out now and its offer price is 93cts.
With a public offer size of 265 million, I believe you will
get something by just subscribing to its offer. Public offer
close on 5 March, next Tuesday, 12pm noon.

Inevitably, I received a couple of emails on STX OSV
after it announced full-year result yesterday night.
I expect to receive a lot more question about the
stock at Skype later. Anyway, the result was pretty
unexpectedly worse than my forecast. One email
said that maybe the company has "cook-up" the
previous results so that it will look nicer to be sold
to prospective buyers. Now that it has a new owner
in the Italian boss, the attractive dividend also being
cancelled. I am not suggesting this is the case.
Well, I can only say that I am disappointed
with the result and no dividend this time round. The
fundamental is still sound and the order book is still
impressive but I expect selling in the stock today.
If you have bought the stock at a much lower price
and have taken the succulent dividend over the
last few years, then it is Ok to continue to hold on
to the stock. On the other hand, the stock will be
very well supported around the 1.22 level since
if this level is breached, many shareholders will
take up the offer and sell their holding to the Italian.

Ok, the Budget is out and it is a really generous
one depending on which pay-scale you are at.
Some will argue that the government is actually
implementing wealth tax on the car and property
you have, but you can also say that it will spur
the rich and wealthy into making more money.
Look on the bright side of life, we are far more
better than some region of the world.
Stocks in US took a stumble like their counterpart
in this year's Oscar ceremony, with Dow down by
216 points and S&P 500 and Nasdaq also suffering
losses in overnight trade. The "News" is that it is
due to the Italian election and the looming spending
cuts, but it is always a good time to take a break
and have a kit-kat.
Lastly, if you are finding places to park your money
rather than making miserable interest from the banks,
then there are 2 incoming IPOs that you may be
interested. Mapletree Great China Commercial Trust
priced at 93cts will be out very soon and we also have
a dual listing of Tosei Corporation from Japan in
the pipeline.

I received some emails over the weekend
asking what is my view on the Budget which
will be unveil this afternoon. Seriously, in my
own opinion, I don't expect any big surprises
coming our way. It should have some pro-business
measures for the SMEs to help with the labour
and manpower cost, but it is already well factored
into the expectation of many. I don't see a real
boost to the stock market as a whole. A real
unforeseen measure will really triggered another
good run-up, so let's cross our finger and see how
this afternoon.
By the way, I will resume my research reports sending
again after having some issues with Yahoo! mail
over the past months.
