Market View 31 July 2009

Last trading day in July.....

Ok, all 3 major US indices surged higher, but if look
closer at their intra-day chart, they closed near to the
day low, which is not a bright sign. We will have Chevron
& The Washington Post reporting their earnings tonight.

Our local market surged after the lunch break again yesterday,
and the Hot stocks did stage a good surge, and some readers
may have profited heavily from Straits Asia wonderful charge-up.
I have to advise that any gap-up today is a good time to
clear some contra holdings, as it is very likely we will not see a
strong closing today. I was triggered by Rotary when it came into the 80cts region,
and I wrote about it in my other blog yesterday, and it did
surged higher and closed above $1 within days. I noticed that
First Resources has also came into the region, and we have Mermaid
Meritime at 76.5cts, very near to the region. I will be watching them
closely.

I am cautious now, and will take profits once the south
wind is blowing.
Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be cautiously trading today on the still-hot stocks.
Concentrate on the GREEN (If Available, but prepared)Hot stocks:
Straits Asia, Midas, Olam, Ezra, Ezion, KS Tech,Cosco,YZJ,
Indo Agri,Noble, NOL, Genting, Ascendas India Trust,Yanlord
&Uniasia, Raffles Edu, Swiber, Swissco.
In close watch: Epure & Falcon Energy, Rotary, First Resources, Mermaid.

Enter any position with a Cut-loss level & Trailing Stop,
and Please practice strict (Risk)Money-management.
If you don't like what you see in the market,
simply don't trade.

Market View 30 July 2009

An interesting thing happened yesterday.
STI nearly did an amazing coincidence in its
closing of 2604 narrowly missed yesterday
4D 1st prize of 2606. Haha, if not the WanBao
and XinMing can write the article for many days.

Ok, back to the market news...
The 3 major indices in US fell on falling oil price
and US factory order figure, but to me, it is
purely profit-taking after a long winning streak.
We will have Kellogg, Sony & Walt Disney reporting
their earning today.

On our local front....
Our market did an roller-coaster ride yesterday,
and closed way above day low, although still in the red.
Most Hot stocks were off the high and were red, as what
I have expected in the blog yesterday. I can only see
2 Hot stocks, Ezra & IndoAgri in the green, and you should
know now that I like to see and will follow the greens
in a pool of reds. We are likely to see a repeat of
yesterday's showing today. Stay on the sideline to watch
the show if you want, or else look for the green shoots.
Seriously speaking, I would like the profit-taking and
selling to acclerate, but I believe the supporting hand
will be around, as history repeat itself again, in
our last consolidation. I received an interestingly shocking
phone call from an old friend in NS asking what stock to buy
currently. What else can I tell him? Are you getting the message?

I am cautious now, and will take profits once the south
wind is blowing.

Market View 29 July 2009

Ok, I am 99% recovered, and thanks for all
the concerns, I can beat a cow to death and
eat it now, literally speaking....

Uncle Sam's major 3 indices closed mixed,
with Dow and S&P 500 down narrowly, and Nasdaq
increased 7.62 points. The waning consumer
confidence survey looks to causing a concern and
impacted the market in early trading, but the indices
managed to rebound from intra-low and closed to the good.
We will have ConocoPhillips, Sprint Nextel & Visa
reporting their earning figures tonight.

Our market surged pass the 2600 mark with strong
momentum on good earning expectation from the corporations
in the earning reporting season. But....it is only an
expectation, and the actual result may differs.
There are reports commenting that the recent
"better-than-expected" results are actually fake (read manipulated),
as the "expected results" are set at a very low level, so it is
quite normal to get a expected better result. A better way of saying,
is that most corporations reported a "not-as-bad-as-expected"
results. We can expect the same scenario to be play-out in
our local earning results as well.

I believe many readers should have profited from the past
2 weeks of volatile momentum trading, so it is time
to be cautious as the storm will eventually reach our shore again.
Many Hot stocks were off day-high yesterday, and I personally
don't like to see such a situation. If you are trading today,
stick to the greens, and have a trailing stop implemented.
If not, stay out and watch THE show.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be cautiously trading today on the still-hot stocks.

Market View 28 July 2009

Hi all readers to my blog,
Thank you to all the concern emails that I
received yesterday as I have not posted any
Market View yesterday. I was down with fever
and flu for the last 4 days, and really don't
have that much of energy yesterday to give a
market view although my mind would really
wanted to do so. Don't worry, it is not the
H1N1 flu that I am suffering, it should be just a
common flu (according to the doctor)but only with
more potency. Touch wood. I am alive and kicking as
I write the blog now. :-)

Ok, back to the trading world....
Uncle Sam's major 3 indices close slightly higher
in Monday trading with financial stocks back in
focus which reversed early losses to close green.
There are not many major powerhouses yet to announce
their earnings, but the rest should still affect the
market figures. We have Energizer, Office Depot, Unisys,
Viacom releasing their result tonight.

Back to local shore....
STI powered-on and closed up 43 points at 2577, way above the
2500 support level, but it is not as rosy in the Hot stocks.
I saw a couple of Hot stocks in the reds, while the rest only
managed to close marginally higher. They may take a breather
today. I will not be that hastily into the market as well,
but will be cautiously looking at green opportunities.
My 4 recommedation stocks look to be earning quite a good
result for the readers, as last friday's post received a
comment from a reader making some money from Genting.
It is always an encouraging feeling reading such a comment.
Keep it coming......
