Market View 11 Feb 2009 and the next 2 weeks

Somehow Dow closed at a very
"auspicious" number of 7888.88,
so will our market also be "auspicious"
today and close at 1688.88?
:-)

My personal view for today and the next
2 weeks is that our general market and
the Hot stocks, regardless they are the
commodities stocks, or the S-chips,
will be resilient to any Uncle Sam's
onslaught.

We will be red initially if the Dow keep
doing a triple-digit dive, but it is very highly
that we will recover to close better at 5pm.
In fact, from my observation, there are more
potential buyers waiting to pound on any
downslide of good stocks, and it will be
a good support for our market.
Just for today scenario, I will not be a bit
surprise to see lots of green leaves among
red flowers later of the day.

Ok, since I will be away and will not not
be updating this blog for the next 2 weeks,
I will just give a list of Hot trading stocks
to take note, if you are a short-term
or contra trader.

If you have traded for a while, you will
notice that the commodities stocks tend
to move in tandem, ie Noble, Olam & Straits Asia.
To be cruel, I would like to see Olam and Noble
below $1 again, so that I can pick them up
in holding again, but it is an unlikely expectation now,
unless some drastic events unfold.

Ezra, Swiber, NOL & YZJ is a team that will
somehow move together sometimes.
Raffles Edu and Midas is a good bet that one will
follow another surge pretty much.
The last pair is one that have made money for
many readers I believe, and they are Cosco & Yanlord.
Please pay high attention to Yanlord, as it very likely
that it will surge pass the $1 soon, as it has been
consolidating for a immediate push-up.

You will have plentiful of trading opportunities
from the 11 Hot stocks that I have given,
as they will be liquid and volatile everyday,
and that will create good $$$ earning potentials.

If you have been reading my blog, you will have
note that I kept mentioning about Trailing Stops
and Money Management, so why the long-windedness?

Whenever someone ask my opinion about a trading
position, my question to him will be "How much are
you willing to lose?", or "Where is your cut-loss point?".
They must be able to answer these questions then I will
proceed with my personal view.

Never expect to enter a confirmed-sure-win trade,
you are just entering a high-chance-90%-winner trade,
so don't throw caution into the wind, or else you may end-up
with a nasty and rude awakening.
If you don't know Murphy's Law, then this is it,
"If Things can go wrong, it will, and at the worst possible
time", so be prepare to "Lose" when you enter any trades.
Anyway, once you enter in a stock, you are already on
the losing side due to the commission that you die-die
need to pay, so take note.

Some people practice taking a quick profit on the
winner-stocks, and keep on delaying their cut-loss on
loser-stocks. This wrong doing will come back to haunt them
for many many years, as they will suffer the same fate every
time. That is why I keep a trailing stop when I trade,
if the winners keep advancing, my stops will follow suit,
until the momentum is exhausted, and my stops are triggered,
then I am out of the stocks with a profit.

To the traders, one of the worst feeling is to see Winners
reversed into Losers, it is so heart and morale-shattering,
and that is what many traders allow themself to face
day-in-day-out. Don't pray to Mr Market when your stocks
are falling, as he is very busy with lots of prayers,
and most likely, he will not answer your prayers, and/or
he may make a hell out of it.

As usual, enter a position will a trailing stop, and
Please practice strict money-management.

Market View 10 Feb 2009

It is interesting to note the usefulness of
a very simple Trailing Stop, as it will "prevent"
you for suffering a big loss and protect your
profits when the south wind is obviously
blowing.

Since I will be "away" tomorrow for about
2 weeks, I will only be trading very light today
but it will be a prompt and swift operation,
as I need to be out of trading position by 5pm.

I will be seeking to enter into Noble, Olam,
Yanlord, Straits, Raffles & Swiber. It is not to
say I will enter all of them, but they will present
the best trading opportunities today on the
upside. We should be able to see a surge on some
Hot stocks, but the general market will be
quieter and softer.
As usual, enter a position will a trailing stop,
and Please practice strict money-management.

Market View 9 Feb 2009

Last Friday saw the stepping down of Ho Ching
as the CEO of Temasek Holdings, and the
appointment of former BHP Billiton CEO Charles
"Chip" Goodyear, which to me is a not so market-sensitive
news. But the market reacted as if Mr Goodyear will
immediately snap-up the commodities stocks,
and that push up the stocks like Noble, Olam, Straits Asia.

To say the truth, I really don't care what is the background
of the new Temasek boss, as long as from the market action,
I know what to pick up to enjoy the made-up market
speculations about Mr Goodyear's future investment plans.

Congrats to all who went into the Hot stocks last Friday,
I believe you have made a "indecent" profits from a
couple of stocks like Noble, Olam, Raffles, Yanlord, NOL,
and the rest. Just held on to the winners, and enjoy
the surge today with a usual
trailing stop.

I was hopping for a red closing for Uncle Sam last friday
so that I can pick-up more stocks at the opening
1 hours from panick over-the-weekend sellers,
but it ended with a triple digit gain. So if there is
any weakness in the Hot stocks today, I am
ready to snap up a couple, but it will be a
fast-in-fast-out trade since I will be away this Wednesday.
Please practice strict money management.
