Market View 11 May 2012

Dow finally snapped a 6-day losing streak to
close barely in the green up a mere 20 points.
The index was up as high as 96 points before
sinking down yet again. I believe that we have
not seen the worse yet and the blood will continue
to flow for quite a while.

Our market staged a late buying and closed in
the green with 3 points gained in STI. But there
are still quite heavy selling in the mid-small caps
and many stocks are trading near their critical
support line on the chart. But the sky is usually the
darkest just before the dawn, and I have not see
any sunlight seeping through yet. I believe we will
see a rebound in June and for those with funds
that they can set aside for a couple of months,
pick up the broken pieces along the way. If you
want to catch the stocks right at the bottom price,
then you can continue to look to the sky.

Market View 10 May 2012

Another negative market close in the US
and based on the pre-opening figures,
we are going to see a firm-to-weaker day
again. It had been this case for the last few
days that the market starts to react to the
opening in the Europe markets.

Like what I mentioned in the blog before, now
is really not a good time to be gungho and
contra on the stocks if you don't have the time
to monitor them. Market is very volatile and "crazy"
now and wild swings are expected and that
can change direction and knock you out cold.
Instead, one should seek to pick up quality
stocks that had been regardless battered.
This is my personal perspective on the market
right now and that is what I am doing too.

Market View 9 May 2012

I was having problem posting the blog just
now and only managed to login to Blogger now.

Anyway, market should be weaker today given
the overnight fall in Wall Street. If you are
trying to pick stocks for contra positions then
my suggestion is don't, as I can only see further
selling ahead and the index is likely to fall.
But if you are putting money in quality stocks
for about 2-3 months, then take your time to
select the good bargains.

A few members are still asking about the recent
IPO which I have already stated their technical
breakout price days ago. Civmec looks to be the
leader of the pack now and although it is a rather
surprising choice, it is doing very well currently.

Market View 8 May 2012

It was a big pool of red yesterday but sadly
the trading volume remains thin and I would
have hope for a more drastic drop coupled
with heavy selling, alas it was not to be.
Market will remain relative volatile and erratic
and I won't rule out the chance of yet more
selling will come. But I am a man with cup-half-full
and I will continue to monitor for any good
bargains along the way. Some people I know
simply want the market to be 100% on the
upside and don't want to see any blood on the
street. If you are holding such belief, then you
should not be dealing with the Mr Market.
Maybe a trip to the beach and watch the how the
sea waves behave will be beneficial to you.
It is with such big selling that will ensure that you
will be able to profit heavily in the coming months.

I met up with some old friends yesterday and while
chatting with them on some financial issues, I saw and
sensed Fear and Uncertainities in their voices. I like it.

No Market View today

I am taking a day-off in this dark-cloudy
rainy day to visit some old friends for a
lunch outing. I know that many member
are on replacement holiday as Vesak Day
falls on a Saturday. Anyway, be careful of
any wild swing today.
