Market View 23 October 2009

What a roller-coaster week we have!
Dow was jumping around the important 10000 points
for the whole week, and on thursday trading, it
was up above yet again with a wonderful 132 points
surge to close at 10081. Dow was initially in the red followed
a poor job figures, but good results from the companies
reporting yesterday help to boost sentiment, and
push Dow to close at near day-high. We will see the
result of Microsoft, Honeywell & Chartered Semicon tonight.

I believe that many readers may have only watch the
market action on the sideline yesterday, and don't dare
to pick-up some good bargains that have fallen to attractive
prices. I was talking to a reader on Skype about grabbing
some bargains, and she commented that she will not do
so as it will be "dangerous" and "risky". Indeed, it is, and
so is the rewards. I did pick-up some stocks yesterday,
and will take quick profits today, but I will hold some
over the weekend on a trailing stop which will be triggered
if the market goes weak again.

Will I be trading today or just simply it is a "selloff" day
for me? Yes, the day is still very much the same for me,
just another trading day. If the day started off strongly
which I believe will be the case, I will add-up the stocks
that I bought, and enjoy the surge. Once the trend turns,
I got the safety net of the stops, so I am still in the profit
zone. With that to say, it should be another peaceful trading
day ahead of the weekend which I am really looking forward
as I have a meaningful and fulfilling schedule for the next
2 days.

Take a look: Ausgroup, Ezion, Falcon, F1, First Res,
Li Heng,Mermaid, Raffles Education, Sinomem, Swiber,
United Enviro,Uniasia, YZJ, Yingli & Pan Hong.
Looking closely at Rotary, Tat Hong & Tiong Woon, Ramba,

Market View 22 October 2009

Too bad......
Wall Street applied an E-Brake at the final 2 hours
of trading, and the indices came down with a bang.
Dow was down 92 points at closing bell, below the
important 10000 points again after gaining 78 points
in the day. Nasdaq and S&P 500 was also having the
pattern, and closed in the red too. The more "official"
reason for the selldown will be a bank downgrade
and murky Beige Book numbers, but to me, it is
just that the "flu" has not recovered. We will have
heavyweights like 3M, Amazon & McDonald reporting
tonight, so keep a watchout.

Interestingly, our own market index STI also did
an last-minute reversal yesterday afternoon closing down
18 points, and most of the pennies were also in the red.
It is very obvious that we will be opening weakly today
morning, but I don't expect a major selldown to happen
today. I will see how the panicky retailers will sell to the
buyers, and will seek to pick-up some good bargains again.
Let the selling begins...... I will be catching below.
:-P

Take note that I will still be hunting for high risk quick punt
opportunities in the weak market which may not be suitable
for many readers. But, if you are a risk-taker, then talk to
me using Skype for further "discussion".

Market View 21 October 2009

I was late in today's posting due to my computer
having a small "flu" that cause it to behave
strangely early morning when I switch on the machine,
but it is cure now. :-p Coincidentally, Wall Street
also a flu in overnight trading due to the housing report.
I believe it will be cure in due time, and the momentum
will resume upward. We will have companies like
eBay and Wells Fargo reporting tonight.

Quite many stocks did a small reversal yesterday after
performing reasonably in early trading, for example
United Enviro, Pan Hong, Yingli. By the way, Pan Hong
is trading XB today, but it is still a worthy watch.
I am still bullish about them, and will chase them again
when the trend resumes. I see that the water treatment
companies should be in focus again, so watch for stocks
like Epure, United Env, Sinomem, Asia Env. The O&M sector
will also be watched as the oil price has a catalyst effect on it.

I am seeking to add some tech companies in my
stockwatch and trades again, and will update
accordingly here soon. The techs are really dued
for a repeat of a strong rally which many readers
should remembered if they were already in the
market then.

P.S.: I did a poll on whether any further communication method
will be beneficial to the readers and the members, and myself.
The final result is a tie between Chat Room and Facebook,
so I will respect the poll, and setup a Facebook account by today.
The Chat room is already available, but I am sad to say that
the responses have been miserable and terrible. It is empty for
most of the trading days. I guess it is due to the members
want to chat with me using Skype instead.

Market View 20 October 2009

Wall Street started the week with a bang,
and Dow was up above 10000 points again,
adding 96 points in a good trading day acting
on strong positive corporate results.
Now, Dow got to hold its ground, and stay above
the important support level for the market
to carry on its momentum. We will have Yahoo,
Caterpillar, DuPont, Pfizer coming out with their
result tonight.

Our market managed to close 3 points on the upside
yesterday, but it is really the pennies that is really
stealing the show, in particularly some of the stocks
that was mentioned by me. I added Raffles Educations
last thursday into the recommendation in this blog,
saying that I like its chart and momentum, and I was
rewarded with a surge yesterday which should continue
and add to my profits. Yingli, United Enviroment &
Pan Hong were also moving up, just to name a few.

It is obvious that the most stocks will be opening on
high note today, but now is the issue of substaining
for the whole day. This is not really a great issue
to me as I have my stops ready for any untoward
action from Mr Market. Stick to my stock recommendation
given, and you should have a great October profits,
well enough for a wonderful holiday, which I am consider
one in december. Anyway, tackle each day first.........

Market View 19 October 2009

It is another fresh trading week......
Dow tumbled down below 10000 points
last friday after a not-so-impressive result
from GE and BOA. To me, it is just another
small much-need brake, and it is likely that it
will surpass it once again. I said in the blog last
week that the main issue of the day is how long
it will stay above the crucial 10000 points,
which is both a pyschological and technical
support and resistance level to many market
watchers and players. I see that a tug-of-war
is going on at the line, and it is an interesting
battle to watch.

One of my readers emailed me recently saying
that he is waiting for the Great October 2009 Crash,
as this is the most likely month of market crashes
when you refer to the market history book.
Ok, what is my respond?
I purposely put one of the market quote on top of the blog.
"OCTOBER. This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months
to speculate in stocks in. The others are July, January, September,
April, November, May, March, June, December, August,
and February.
Mark Twain 1835-1910, American Humorist, Writer"

To me, it is all the same. regardless of what month we are
in, a market crash or strong bull rally is possible.
The main issue is which side are you in when it
happens. If you are with the "right" trend and momentum,
then you will be greatly rewarded with succulent and
"indecent" profits. If you are acting against the
run, then behold the wrath from Mr Market as he come
crashing down on you.

I believe that most readers should have made money
in October, although we are only half-way through the
month, and I see that the trend will follow-through the
month.
I continue to like the stocks that I recommended,
and after a dead boring friday trading, we will have a
lot of action today.
Take a look: Ausgroup, Ezion, Falcon, F1, First Res, Li Heng,
Mermaid, Raffles Education, Sinomem, Swiber, United Enviro,
