I will be out for the full day and won't be
online at Skype, so I won't be providing any
Market View today. But do take note that the
general market is currently too bullish right now,
and when it is so cheerful and vibrant, there is
a chance that the wave may just turn. Stay alert
and cautious.

Market View 2 May 2013
I nearly can't wake up on time this morning as
I thought today should be Sunday since it was
a non-trading day (Saturday) yesterday. No choice,
I still drag myself out of the warmth of my bed
to face the stone cold look on Mr Market's face.
My expectation for today's market action is quited
muted as I don't believe we will see massive action.
I am looking at selected stocks that was still green
when most stocks were down on Tuesday. I noticed
that Ramba, Vard and Yoma are the green leaves
among all the red flowers.
Ramba had been making good money from a few
readers from the comment that I received recently.
"Hi Bro SL,
you mentioned previously that Ramba's chart was
looking good and as long as it breaks above 485 with
good volume it has good chance of hitting 515-52.
Indeed, today it went up to 515-52. I got in at 49 and
sold all at 515. I must say that your reading of the charts
is very accurate and I would like to thank you for the
insight and assitance provided throughout. Thanks! "
and also one comment from Joseph
"Hi SL,
(Quote)I noticed 2 stocks that is showing signs in the
chart that they may have a good run soon. This is just
my technical view. The stocks are Courts Asia and Ramba.
Watch it. (Unquote)
Well, your above view in your blog of 25th April urged me
to purchase at price of 0.49 on the 26th April. Too good to be
true, I sold part on 29th and balance today, making me richer
by 1026.00 Not bad, eh!
Terima Kasih."

Market View 30 April 2013
If you read the main page of ST today, there
is a report which a director of the IMF said that
Singapore has a "exuberant stock market" right
now and "rapid growth of debt as a percentage
of the overall economy". Well, Yes, we are in
such a circumstance right now, but if you were
to ask your broker or remisier how's business?
Most of them will tell you that it is very quiet
from the retail investor side. It is only a very small
handful of investors and traders in the market
"playing" with the shares at the moment. The
remisiers themselves and the BBs are just playing
rotational interests in the selected stocks, namely
those micro penny stocks that appear in the Top
Volume regularly and those "in-the-news" stocks.
With that, I don't believe we will see a major crash
in the market in the short run, but if you overheard
the-man-on-the-street starts to discuss very loudly
over some stocks or the market condition, then it
maybe a good time to do some realistic expectation
on the market.
Next, a few readers asked me about the H7N9 bird
flu and whether it will affect our market. Well, I believe
that the readers should know that Taiwan just had the
first case last week. In this Global Village era, I believe
it is not a issue of whether the virus will reach our
homeland but when will it touch ground here. We are
not invulnerable to the Virus and when we really report
the first case, it is going to be messy, chaotic and drastic.
Will the stock market be affected? Definitely, but it is also
the best time to grab the bargains. If you anyhow just
buy quality stocks during the SARS period, you will make
a fortune just couple of months later when the market rebounded.
We will just see when the virus will reach our shore....
Lastly, I want to talk about Vard, formerly known as STX OSV.
It is having a free-fall in the stock price lately and it even fell
much below the general offer price of 1.22 by the new Italian
boss. Many readers are in this stock and indeed it was the
superstar before it was acquired by the Italian. Since then,
the stock price has been falling. My advice is that if you no
longer see any future with the company's fundamental and
potential, then you may have to cut loss and get out of the stock.
Frankly, I don't see any drastic fundamental shift in the company.
In fact, I believe that the company will grow even better and
further with the new management and backing. This is my
personal view on the stock right now. Opinions can differ.

Market View 29 April 2013
Ok, some readers asked me about Rowsley
which surged to a high and closed at 40.5cts
last Friday. It is already an open secret when
I stated in the blog that I buy into the propsects
and potential of the company when I started
to collect and get into the stock around the 37cts
level. Some readers did buy around the same
price level too and they are sitting on a good
paper profit or materialised one if they have
sold the stock already. I am still holding the stock
as I got in near the recent low this time and frankly
I believe that the stocks can still move up further.
But if you get in at the current price, do take note
that your risk is definitely higher than me. Only
go into a stock as an investment if you can see
the future development and potential of the company.
In fact, Joseph left a comment on the blog last
Friday. He skyped with me and bought into the
stock. This is what he says, "Hello SL,on 19 Apr 2013
you mentioned in your market view that you started
picking up Rowsley at the 0.37 cts level. Well, I did the
same and started buying (like you say bit by bit) from
0.375 right to 0.360. Well, I just sold 70pct of my holding
on Rowsley for a gain of $1886 at 0.400 when I skyped
you this morning that I intend to sell part at this level.Yes,
it came true, thanks to you once again. Cheers"
I am not 100% sure but I believe he will hit the 5-digit mark
of profits very soon with all the profits. Joseph, correct
me if I am wrong.
Next, we will only have 4 trading day this week as we
celebrate Labour Day on the mid-week and it also mark
the beginning of the dreaded May, or is it really the case.
In today's Straits Times, there is an article on the "Sell
in May and go away" behaviour and it commented that
this May may (pun unintended) not be that bearish or
quiet as previous years. You can do your read-up if you
are interested.
Oh ya, remember the stock Gaylin that I mentioned
for a few days last week. It "suddenly" spur up in action
last Friday with increasing volume coming in. I will
continue to monitor it on the chart.
