Market View 5 July 2013

Many stocks were in green in yesterday's
trade but did the readers noticed the very
low trading volume? Also, quite many of
them closed way below the intra-day high
made. This is obviously not a good sign,
and I will advise the readers to be cautious
and vigilant if you are doing any trades at
this time. That's from me on this last trading
day of the week.

Before I go, I read an article yesterday about
"3 Ways to become rich in Singapore", and
somehow stock investing/trading is not one of
it. The readers can go through the article and tell
me your views.

Market View 4 July 2013

It is Independence Day today in the US and
it looks like our stocks are still very dependent
on Uncle Sam after all. We witnessed a great
massacre and blood-letting selling yesterday,
with many stocks ended in the red and the
major index got battered hard. This is the first
selling since I am back from holiday.

From the pre-opening quote this morning, our
stocks should open firmer. As what I can see
from the charts, many stocks are range-bound
now, and the recent-high will be a good resistance
for many of them.

Market View 3 July 2013

Firstly, I am sure that the readers should noticed
that many stocks started Q3 with a bang and
surged high for the last 2 days. But did you also
notice that many stocks also closed way below
the day-high yesterday? The obvious near-term
resistance had been set and as and when the
stock tested and break the resistance with healthy
volume, I believe it is a sign of strength and better
things to come. If you don't have access to technical
charts, you can get it for free at Chartnexus or some
brokerage house also provided the charts for their
client as part of the package.

Ok, we come to Vard. If the readers did follow the
SGX announcement as what I regularly told the
readers to do so, you will know what happened
to the stock. It issued a profit guidance that it
will missed its Q2 expectation due to some issues
in its Brazil operations. Take note that the company
did not say it will report a loss, just a drop of profits,
and it is still profitable in its other operations. In my
view, and as usual, this is always the case repeated
time and time again, market tends to over-react.
Please be aware that I am a shareholder of the stock
and after minus-off its recent generous dividends,
my cost price is very low. If you want to know whether
I will buy at its current price, then the answer is a
confident "Yes". I view it as a distress price when it
is not in such situation.
For readers that are in the stock too, you have to ask
yourself how confidence are you with the stock.
I believe that it is just a slight issues and it will continue
to deliver in the times to come.

For readers that are in the Mentor Group, I have done
some write-up and you should know where to get it.

Market View for the 2nd Half of 2013

Ok, I will dive into what I believe will happen
to the stock market in the 2nd-half of the year.
Firstly, I believe that the recent selling is just
a much-needed and overdue correction. It is
so good to see that some stocks had dropped
to an attractive price during my absence. I really
should take a break more often....
Seriously, I believe that the market should still
have a good year-end closing with a good rally
happening from around October.

I mentioned a couple of stocks before I went
for my holiday and I continue to believe so now.
They are: Dukang, Midas, Sinarmas, Sinograndness,
Yoma, Rowsley, Noble, Vard (fka STX OSV), China Minzhong,
First Resources.

I guess I have nothing much to add on to the
2nd-half Market View for the time being and I
will update any occurrence or observations that
I gather in the blog.

Market View 1 July 2013

Haha...I posted the market view in the Stock Report
blog. Here goes...
============================================

A fresh start to Q3 2013 and of course, the month
of July. In a flash, we entered the 2nd half of the
year, so how did the readers of this blog doing
with the finances for the last 6 months?
Email or Skype me to tell me about it.

You know, when I saw that the market begin to
fall before I left for my holiday, I was expecting
to see some recovery when I was away.
But somehow, my travel jinx is still very much
intact and powerful, and the market continues to fall in
my absence. This is really getting very very interesting.
When I checked my email, it is full of the same
questions," Should I buy now?" or even more simply,
"What should I do now?" I have gone through as
many charts as I possibly can, and also read up
on some important news locally and aboard.
Same as the case with the haze situation now,
the picture and vision is getting clearer as the days
proceed. I always say that I am a half-full person
and I continue to see that in our market at the moment.
I will do a thorough write-up tomorrow, both on this
blog and the Mentor Group too. Regretfully, I have not
been contributing much to the Mentor Group, and I
believe this will change for the better.

I expect a rather busy session with the Skype discussion
today as I believe I will receive many questions.
I may be slow in replying but I will seek to answer
everyone's question as soon as possible.
I have only a head and 2 hands and 2 eyes so I can't
work as efficiently as a robot so don't expect the same
response from the machine.
