Market View 17 July 2009

Ok, so Uncle Sam rallied for a straight 4th day
on JP Morgan's result announcement. In after-hour,
Internet giant, Google reported second-quarter net income
that climbed to $1.48 billion, or $4.66 a share, from $1.25 billion,
or $3.92 a share, in the same period a year earlier. It was a
better-than-expected result, and we shall see how Nasdaq react
tonight. We will also have heavy-weight like Citigroup,
Bank of Amercia (BOA), General Electric (GE) reporting tonight,
and the main focus will be on Citigroup which was expected to
report a loss, but how big is the losses?

Our market weaken yesterday after taking a heavy
lunch break, and most stocks were off day-high, and some
even fell into the red region, as profit-taking surfaced.
We are likely to see a part 2 in today's trading, but it has been
a good ride in last few sessions of trading, and I believe most
readers should have made a decent profits from the Hot stocks,
even with the 4 stocks that I specifically mentioned.

Midas and Ezra will both in back in action after the trading halt,
and they are in my focus yet again, together with Genting &
Straits Asia, but I will be cautiously bullish about them today.
Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be trading today on the still-hot stocks.
Concentrate on the GREEN (If Available, but prepared)Hot stocks:
Straits Asia, Midas, Olam, Ezra, Ezion, KS Tech,Cosco,YZJ,
Indo Agri,Noble, NOL, Genting, Ascendas India Trust,Yanlord
& Uniasia, Raffles Edu, Swiber, Swissco.
I am doing a review on a few more stocks and will likely add them
into my watch pretty soon, they are the next potential trading
winners and maybe even multi-baggers.

Enter any position with a Cut-loss level & Trailing Stop,
and Please practice strict (Risk)Money-management.
If you don't like what you see in the market,
simply don't trade.

Market View 16 July 2009

Uncle Sam's indice soared higher about 3%
on strong earnings and an upbeat forecast from Intel,
and Fed's comment on the recovery. Tonight we
will see another tech giant Google, and banking giant
JP Morgan reporting, so keep a watchout.

Our market closed up very nicely adding 78.87
and closed on a high note after the lunch break.
I was mainly on the 4 stocks that I mentioned,
and if you have followed, Midas is on trading halt now
pending announcement which I believe will be rewarding.

I will keep it short today as the trading will start real soon.
I am still bullish on the 4 stocks, and now Midas is unable to
trade for now, I am still left with 3 great winners, and will
continue to ride on them until the south wind starts to blow.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.
Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be trading today on the still-hot stocks.

Market View 15 July 2009

Uncle Sam's indices struggled to close in the green,
recovering from mid-day fall from the red, and
closed about 0.4% higher. Goodman Sachs did
reported a better-than-expected result but it
was already factored into the Monday's 185-point surge.
In an after-hour news, Intel, the world's biggest
semiconductor company said it earned $1 billion,
or 18 cents per share, in the second quarter,
excluding a $1.45 billion antitrust fine from the European Union.
Still to come, we have heavy-weights like JP Morgan reporting
on Thursday, BOA and Citibank on Friday.

Our market charged higher about 2300 again yesterday
with encouraging local news of the GDP jump and revision,
and we are technically out of the recession. I started the first blog entry
in October 2008 when PM Lee stated that we are in recession,
and it had been about 10 months and we are out of the pit already.
I started the post urging investor to continue to put money
into the market, and indeed they only need to wait for 5 months
when the March rally started and rage on. I believe they are
still in succulent profits now.
If you are new to the blog or just want to read my very 1st post of the blog,
go to http://stocklobang.blogspot.com/2008_10_19_archive.html

The Hot stocks were higher yesterday, but the profits are not
that impressive as many stocks opened gap-up, and move
in range-bound around the opening price. Nevertheless, it is
still a good sign to see the trading screen green "once in a while".
We may have profit-taking today, and only "selected" stocks
will continue the surges. I am still quite bullish on the 4 stocks
that I specifically mentioned yesterday:Midas, Ezra, Genting, Straits Asia,
and the commodities stocks. I am prepared to take a quick profits/loss
if the wind is unfavourable.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.
Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will STILL be trading light today on the still-hot stocks.
Concentrate on the GREEN (If Available, but prepared)Hot stocks:
Straits Asia, Midas, Olam, Ezra, Ezion, KS Tech,Cosco,YZJ,
Indo Agri,Noble, NOL, Genting, Ascendas India Trust,Yanlord

Market View 14 July 2009

Ok, I said before, We need Surprises, and indeed
we got one today. Our market sunk 41 points yesterday
in anticipation of a weaker closing in Uncle Sam indices.
But guess what, financial stocks were buoyed by
analyst's comment and Goldman Sachs' upgrade,
and Dow managed to close 185 points higher, while
Nasdaq and S&P 500 also surged more than 2%.

Adding to today's trading mood is an upgrade by the the
government which revised its 2009 GDP contraction forecast
range to between 4% and 6%, compared with a previous range
of a 6%-9% decline. The government also warned that economic
conditions will remain challenging given continued weakness in
global economic conditions. Technically we are out of the recession,
but it is not as rosy worldwide........

It was a pool of blood in our market yesterday, with most
Hot stocks battered down to close near day-low, with
Midas the still-strong standing in the bloodshed.
For today's trading, the "obvious" direction is up,
but it will not be a one-way road to the closing bell.
There will still be sell-down as there are still uncertainties
and directionless trends in the market.

I will stick to the stronger stocks for today's trading, and
they are Midas, Ezra, Genting, Straits Asia, while keeping
a watchful eye in the commodities stocks and the rest
of the Hot stocks. I am prepared to take a quick profits/loss
if the wind is unfavourable.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious

Market View 13 July 2009

Another fresh week of trading.
Another fresh new week of money-making opportunities.
This week, we will have many corporate result
from Uncle Sam, including giant like Citibank and the likes.
They will move the market, and will influence the
Hot stocks, and like what I said before, I hope to see
Big Surprises!

Last week 's trading was pretty boring although still
within reasonable range and reward. There were lots
of horror movies being shown last week, and I sense that
this week will be about the same. We need clear signals
or some nasty surprises to get the train going, and rewarding
trading opportunities will surface.

I have been trading light for last couple of days, and will
continue to do so until I sense the wind flowing in the right
direction, then only will I show hand. Stick to the greens
if you want to trade, or those in the news, or else stay out and
watch the show. I will comment and provide more detail as the
week's trading and news unfold.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.
Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be trading light today on the still-hot stocks.

Market View 10 July 2009

Ok, as usual, nothing much from Uncle Sam.
All 3 major indiced edged up marginally higher
in a directionless trading waiting for further
corporate result unveiling next week.
Our market stage a surge after the lunch-break
yesterday and closed near high above 2300 again.

Yesterday, I only concentrated my ammo on
4 stocks that I mentioned yesterday, and the
profits were well above Ok. I am sure many readers
should have benefited from Ezra and Genting.
I will focus on these 4 today if they are green.

Today we may see weakness creeping into our
market as we are facing uncertainties, and yesterday's
surge may prompt profit-taking today ahead of the weekend
market break. My advice is watch the show, but look for green
shoots to trade light, else look for those stocks in the news
like Ezra.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.
Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be trading light today on the still-hot stocks.

Market View 9 July 2009

Ok, not much to tell from the Uncle Sam side,
the indices closed mixed with Dow and Nasdaq
up marginally while S&P 500 was down by 1 point.
But in an after-hour news, Alcoa, the largest US
aluminum producer reported a second-quarter loss
of $454 million, or 47 cents a share, compared with
earning of $546 million, or 66 cents a share, during the
same period last year.

The reporting by Alcoa usually marks the beginning of
corporate result reason in the US, and we should have
more result news from today. Like what I said before
days ago, I want to see surprises, more of the "worse-than-expected",
"better-than-expected", "negative", "positive", "worst",
"collapsed", "tumbled", "slided" being seen in the reporting.

On a local front, yesterday most stocks did closed above
the day low, with IndoAgri doing a superb U-turn after
hitting an intra-low of $1.01, and closed the day strongly,
though still in the red, at $1.10. I will be "tracking" closely at
this stock today. Ezra halted trading after 1/2 day, and announced
financial result yesterday night. It is not that impressive, but still
JPM raised its target price from $0.75 to $1 in a research report.
I will be watching this stock too, it is how the market will
react to the result that matters.

Many stocks, in fact for our local market, are still quite
weak, and the selling is far from over yet, except from a
few strong stocks. Genting staged a late recovery yesterday to
close green, the same too for Ascendas India Trust.
These stocks will be my main focus for today, while still having
an watchful for others that may spur back to life. I think
we may have watched too many a horror movie lately,
but there is no comedy yet. Just stay alert, and be aware
of any wind changing direction.

Trade those still Hot (if available Green) stocks but be cautious
of south wind.
Follow the Flow, but expect the Unexpected.
I will be trading light today on the still-hot stocks.
Concentrate on the GREEN (If Available, but prepared)Hot stocks:

P.S.: Many readers commented to me that they are
actually investors, and not traders going to short-term
gains from the volatility movement of Hot stocks.
They prefer to invest in stocks and see price appreciation
overtime. Therefore, I am thinking of starting an
Investment Club, which is still a blog, but I will not
be the main person contributing to the article, but
the members will do the job.

You can suggest a stocks, and asked for opinion, or you
have done your personal Fundamental Analysis (FA)
and would like to share with rest the P/E ratio,
Cash Flow Analysis, NAV, NTA...
I will setup a poll, and if you think it is a good suggestion,
give me your views. Thank you.
